The history behind beautiful Sharland England

Ever since we started Alabaster, we have had the pleasure of offering beautiful handmade rattan furniture and tables designed by Louise Roe.

Louise blends history, craftsmanship and supports local artisans and artists who use production techniques that have been passed down through centuries to create their furniture and decor.
This makes us extra happy to be the only retailer selling Sharland England in Scandinavia!

Read on to get to know Louise Roe better and the story behind Sharland England.
"Welcome to Sharland England, a pipe dream-turned reality, that has captured my heart entirely. Having worked in fashion and broadcasting my whole career, it's thrilling to finally put into practice my greatest joy: designing beautiful pieces for the home.."

Louise Roe, Founder
Inspired by her great-grandmother

The name "Sharland" is the maiden name of Louise's great-grandmother, Marjorie Sharland - a British woman with a sense of style, humor, and informal elegance.

The home Louise grew up in was filled with beautiful patinated wood furniture, rattan, chintz and memories. The feeling she had as a child that the furniture carried its own stories and moods is the foundation of Sharland England.
Beautiful materials and luxury

Louise's childhood memories have formed the foundation for the identity and aesthetic behind Sharland England. Louise takes great care and thought into designing each piece of furniture and decor. The rattan they use is sustainable, made entirely from natural materials and produced by hand.

The natural materials and timeless designs at Sharland England carry their own stories and give a room both warmth and luxury.
