Marie Louise Sjögren for Sydtextil

Interior designer Marie Louise Sjögren has developed her own collection in collaboration with Swedish Sydtextil. It is a collection of 18 fabrics in seven different qualities. These are high-quality textiles, made in Europe, for timeless curtains, cushions and furniture.

The colors of the different fabrics harmonize with each other and range from saturated pastels like Ice Baby and Blush, to warm gemstone shades of green and apricot like Emerald and Caramel.

The Sheer Wool, Sheer Linen and Washed linen curtain fabrics are woven in double width for volume and are sewn with French pleats for classic elegance. The colour palette is light and warm in tones of Swan, Pure, Butter, Sand and Peach.

If you want more structure in the fabric, for example for headboards, bedspreads, footstools or cushions, Linen Light is a good choice. It is available in the colours Milk, Oat, Primavera and Blues, which range from light neutrals to more pronounced tones of light green and blue.

The more robust upholstery fabrics Rustic Linen and Cotton Velvet range from colors like Vanilla and Fudge, to warm shades of Caramel and Emerald. They are also available in cooler tones like Ice Baby and Steel.

Marie-Louise Sjögren's collection for Sydtextil also includes the airy and luxurious mohair velvet in the color Cream, which goes well with both cushions and furniture.

How do I know which Martindale is recommended?

Martindale is a unit in textile/furniture testing that indicates how durable the fabric is. What is measured is the fabric's ability to resist wear and tear.

Recommended by Martindale.no:

Private environment: Regular use, over 20,000

Private environment: Heavy use, over 25,000

Public environment: Heavy use, over 50,000

Public environment: Extra heavy use, over 80,000

As a starting point, we usually say that for cushions, curtains, poufs or headboards, basically any textile can be used and there is no minimum requirement for the Martindale number.

For furniture in the home where we expect frequent use, we recommend from 20-30,000 Martindale.
