Anna Lisa - Moss Cathy Nordström Fabric
Anna-Lisa Thomson was one of Sweden's most prominent ceramicists, and she worked for a large part of her life at the Upsala-Ekeby Ceramics Factory, where she began working in 1933. Her work was innovative, testing new materials and decoration techniques, and she won several awards and received recognition not only in Sweden but also internationally. She developed a characteristic style of round, organic shapes, often with her very distinct green glaze.
Cathy has been collecting her ceramics for several years, and when she came across a large floor vase with a pattern of horizontal and vertical stripes, she felt inspired to create her own stripe based on this composition. The textile, Anna-Lisa, is a tribute to her work.
